UR Medicine Thompson Health has announced that Christine Lyon, a Farmington resident and certified nurse practitioner, has joined the Advanced Surgical Services team. Lyon has been employed by F.F. Thompson Hospital for 19 years, having previously served as a nurse leader on its 2 West medical/surgical floor and most recently as a registered nurse in its Utilization Management Department.
Lyon’s expertise includes wound care, pre- and post-operative care, inpatient rounding, and in-office procedures. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds a master’s degree in nursing as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Practitioner from Keuka College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College and an associate’s degree in nursing from the Finger Lakes Health College of Nursing.
Advanced Surgical Services, located at 395 West Street in Canandaigua, is part of F.F. Thompson Hospital and is staffed by four surgeons and two nurse practitioners, including Lyon. Patients can receive treatment for various surgical procedures at the facility, including general, laparoscopic, and endoscopic surgeries.
