Bills bring back safety Jordan Poyer on two-year contract

Jordan Poyer tested the free-agent market, but it did not last long.

The Pro Bowl safety decided to stay in Buffalo for at least two more years as he agreed to a two-year contract with the Bills on Wednesday afternoon.

Poyer, 31, joined the Bills in 2017 and has been one of the star defensive players in the league. Over the past six seasons, Poyer is the only NFL player to have 500+ tackles, 20+ interceptions, and 10+ sacks. His 22 interceptions during that span rank fifth in the league, nine of which have come in the last two seasons.

The 2021 All-Pro selection spoke to other clubs but believed his free agency options were limited by his age, per a report from NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.
