Another Section V basketball team has advanced to the New York State Final Four.
The Canandaigua Braves (20-5) took down the Hamburg Bulldogs (15-9), 53-47, in overtime on Saturday night at Buffalo State College.
Canandaigua led by 10 at halftime, but Hamburg came storming back and tied the game heading into the final quarter. The Braves regained a five-point lead with 5:35 remaining in regulation, but Hamburg went on a 7-3 run and forced overtime. Canandaigua dominated the four-minute extra period, outscoring the Bulldogs 8-2.
Mya Herman led the Braves with a 14-point night.
Canandaigua will take on Manhasset (VIII) next Friday at Hudson Valley Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
