Deputies: Ontario man charged with DWI after hitting several mailboxes

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ontario man following an investigation into a property damage crash investigation.

On March 5th around 9:30 p.m. deputies arrested Carl Poole, 66, of Ontario for one count of leaving the scene of a crash, moving from lane unsafely, and DWI.

The charges stem from a crash where he was traveling west on Lakemist Trail before leaving the roadway into a residential yard, striking multiple mailboxes.

He was asked to participate in field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and found to have a BAC of 0.17%.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
