Police in Penn Yan arrested a local man late-Wednesday after an incident in the village.
According to a news release, Jason Ruter, 44, of Penn Yan was arrested after an investigation.
The investigation was prompted by Ruter allegedly being unresponsive while in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Upon further investigation he showed signs of impairment while speaking with police.
Ultimately, Ruter was placed through field sobriety tests, which he failed.
He was transported to the police station and charged with DWI-drugs and other traffic violations.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
