Ithaca police are investigating an assault that took place on February 19th around 8:10 p.m. in the 400 block of Franklin Street.
An employee at a local business was struck in the face by a handgun, according to witness reports.
After initial investigation it was found that a male suspect came into the business looking for his girlfriend. When he couldn’t find her, he became upset and struck another female who was working at the business in the face with a handgun.
The suspect then fled the area, according to police. The victim was taken to a regional medical facility for treatment.
The suspect remains at-large and should be considered ‘armed and dangerous’, police said in a release.
The investigation remains active and anyone with information that could assist police is encouraged to call IPD.
