The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the retirement of longtime officer and Sergeant Aaron DiSanto.
He started as an explorer in 1985 and has been a corrections officer, court security officer, deputy, sergeant and a member of the crash reconstruction team with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said he was a mentor to many younger deputies.
“Thank you for your years of dedication and service to the citizens of Wayne County Sergeant DiSanto. You have made Wayne County a better place for us all to call ‘home’,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a message posted to Facebook.
DiSanto will serve as a deputy fire coordinator for Wayne County in his next chapter. He also serves as chief of the Lyons Fire Department.
