Wegmans, the popular grocery chain, has recently announced that customers can now make Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments for online grocery orders. The service is available through Wegmans.com and the Wegmans app.
Customers who opt to use EBT and SNAP as their payment method will receive free delivery for their first three orders. Additionally, customers can apply a filter to display only SNAP-eligible items when browsing the website or app.
“Each week, thousands of Wegmans orders are placed on the Wegmans app and website, and we continue to hear from customers that it would be helpful to be able to use their SNAP benefits when placing an order,” said Erica Tickle, Wegmans vice president of e-commerce. “Adding this functionality is an important step to further increase access to healthy food throughout the communities we serve.”
This move to accept EBT and SNAP payments online will allow more customers to access healthy food and ease the burden of shopping for those who may not have transportation or time to visit a grocery store. The new service is part of Wegmans’ ongoing efforts to provide a more convenient and inclusive shopping experience for all customers.
