A major drug bust by law enforcement agencies in Geneva has led to the arrest of Carlos J. Garcia on February 16th, 2023.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office charged Garcia with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A Felony, after over 1.5 kilograms of cocaine were discovered during a search warrant executed on his residence.
The Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit and the Geneva Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the search with the assistance of the Ontario County SWAT Team on December 15th, 2022. The operation took place in the City of Geneva, where the investigators discovered the large quantity of cocaine.
Garcia was arraigned in Ontario County CAP Court and was remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail, due to his previous felony convictions. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending. These charges will be presented to the grand jury for consideration.
This is a significant win for the law enforcement agencies involved in the operation, as they continue to work towards curbing the drug trade in the area. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has urged residents to report any suspicious activities that could lead to similar arrests in the future.
