It was nearly a perfect four-game road trip for the Buffalo Sabres (26-19-4), but they fell to the Minnesota Wild (27-14-4), 3-2, in a shootout on Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center. With the loss, Buffalo’s five-game win streak came to an end.
The Sabres played really well in this game. They held two leads but just could not capitalize on some chances late in the third period and overtime.

Jack Quinn and Zemgus Girgensons were the goal scorers for Buffalo. Peyton Krebs and Kyle Okposo notched assists.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 33 saves, but could not make a save in the shootout as Minnesota scored all three times.
The Sabres will try to bounce back at home on Wednesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes in the final game before the All-Star break.
