On Thursday afternoon, Ithaca police were called to a local Walmart after employees reported a person attempting to fraudulently use stolen credit cards.
When police arrived, the suspect, Isaiah J. Foster, 28, of Ithaca, attempted to flee the store and physically resisted arrest. After a brief foot chase through the store, knocking over merchandise, Foster was taken into custody.
Foster was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was also charged with an additional count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property from a previous incident.
Additional charges against Foster are expected. He was later turned over to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, who had filed an arrest warrant for Foster.
