Victor will appeal Lord & Taylor court decision over future of Eastview Mall anchor space

The Town of Victor is appealing a court decision in December to condemn and repurpose the empty Lord & Taylor store at Eastview Mall.

The store itself is not in physical ruin, but represents a sprawling 90,000 square foot vacancy that local officials want filled.

Lord & Taylor filed for bankruptcy in 2020, then shut down in 2021.

The original court decision, which did not go in Victor’s favor, centered around a lack of planning. Basically, the Town did not have enough of a plan in place for the space.

Now, officials say they have a few ideas.

Those same officials say that if unsuccessful in appealing the decision, they will not pursue it further.
