Tankers were used by various departments to haul water from a remote water source for fire suppression. The fire was placed under control about an hour after it was reported.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the occupants.

An adult woman and four children were not home at the time, but lost their home. The family’s pets died in the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. An electric space heater is believed to be the cause.
