Crunch win fourth straight, edge Rocket 2-1

The Syracuse Crunch picked up their fourth straight win on Wednesday night after edging the Laval Rocket, 2-1, at the Upstate Medical University Arena. With the victory, Syracuse improved to 13-9-2-2 on the season.

Both Crunch goals came in the first period as Gemel Smith netted his 11th, while Lucas Edmonds scored his second. Gage Goncalves, Gabriel Dumont, Felix Robert, and Cole Koepke notched assists.

Jack LaFontaine turned aside 31-of-32 shots, including 14 in the final period, securing his first win in his first start with the Crunch.

Syracuse went 0-for-4 on the man advantage and a perfect 3-for-3 on the power play.

The Crunch will return to action on Friday when they host the Rochester Americans at 7 p.m.
