Dick’s House of Sport’s ice-skating rink is hosting several fundraising events for its second year in operation. This coming weekend it’s for Hockey Buddies, a non-profit that helps children who want to become involved in the sport.
“We have a relationship with the Rochester Institute of Technology hockey team, and they have a relationship with Hockey buddies,” Dick’s House of Sport Community Relations Manager Stephanie Campanelli said. “We’re so excited to partner with them. They’re an organization that works with our local community to provide equipment to play hockey. Hockey is a very, very expensive sport and we’re going to help them raise money this Friday for kids that may not be able to afford hockey.”
Friday there will be an open skate after the RIT Men’s and Women’s hockey team’s Games. For details about the event click here.
The ice rink will be open until the end of February. Open skates are held Friday nights from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Check out their Facebook page for more information and events.
