Shop with a cop was a success in Ontario County over the weekend.
The Ontario County Police Benevolent Association worked with local departments – including Geneva and Canandaigua to give kids a positive experience with law enforcement. It happened at Eastview Mall in Victor.
“You have kids that may otherwise not have a really good holiday season. It’s a way for us and the PBA to give back to the community,” Ontario County PBA Lee Martin said after.
Members of the law enforcement community hope that events like this make kids more comfortable talking with police.
The Ontario County program was launched in 2014.
