The Steuben County Legislature has appointed a Bath resident to fill the seat of a legislator who died last month.
Nicholas Pelham was appointed at a meeting on November 28th.
He’s a local businessman and manages the Steuben County Fair.
He was nominated by the Bath Republican Party and Steuben County Republican Committee.
Pelham succeeds Guy Hammond, who passed away unexpectedly in October 2022. He was elected to a four-year term in 2021.
That means Pelham will represent the Town of Bath until the 2023 general election.
There’s been no word yet if he will seek a full-term.
