The Rochester Americans (9-5-1-1) erased a two-goal third-period deficit and defeated the Providence Bruins (10-2-3-2), 4-3, in overtime on Wednesday night at the Blue Cross Arena.
Brett Murray scored twice for Rochester, while Anders Bjork and Linus Weissbach also found the back of the net. Bjork tied the game late in the third period before Weissbach ended it in the final seconds of overtime. Michael Houser started in goal and stopped 31-of-34 shots.
Rochester went 1-for-3 on the power play and a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Amerks will be back in action on Friday night when they host the Bridgeport Islanders at 7 p.m.
