A farm-to-table restaurant called Ella’s Acres Homestead Kitchen is set to open at Arnot Mall and will focus on fresh organic ingredients coming directly from a farm.
Co-Owner Markus Brown tells WENY News that they want to bring better food to the area and offer something new. He and his wife Samantha Hernandez believe great food doesn’t only come from fancy restaurants and that food can taste good when starting with quality ingredients.
Their inspiration for opening the new establishment comes from wanting to teach their daughter Zoey healthy eating habits. They also want to show where food being eaten comes from.
The couple believes locals in the area are ready for a healthier food option. They believe they’ve received a lot of good feedback, especially from younger locals.
Hernandez said people want to be “closer to their food. They don’t want to be eating all these chemicals and all this other stuff that they don’t know what it is.”
Another goal is to try unique and unfamiliar ingredients. They want to try getting people to try new things they may not have tried before.
The opening is Nov. 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. The restaurant’s hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sandwiches, soups, salads and other homemade foods will be offered on their menu.
