A woman from Montana shot and killed a young husky that she posted photos with online before being cited for animal cruelty.

Back in September, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of multiple husky and shepherd mixes left near Doris Creek in the Flathead National Forest.
According to Rochester First, many were found and taken in by animal control.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks also let them know that one of the dogs may have been shot.
This opened an investigation where a woman was later identified.
The woman told sheriff’s that she thought the husky was a wolf pup when she shot it.
She had posted on social media about shooting the dog, but has since deleted it.
In her original post she bragged about shooting the puppy, but in another post she said she made a mistake and thought it was a hybrid wolf-pup. She also said the puppy was aggressive and was coming directly for her.
The woman was charged with a misdemeanor and not a felony because negligence can be proven but not intent.
She pleaded not guilty.
