Just a week ago New York residents braced themselves for the first snowfall in some areas before the weather changed and became warm.

This week that warm weather trend is expected to continue, despite winter and the first snowfall expected at any moment now.

With one week left in October, you can expect unseasonably warm temperatures.

What this warm weather will look like in the Finger Lakes region in New York State

Monday

Geneva: High of 70, partly cloudy. 56 degrees overnight, partly cloudy.

Ithaca: High of 69 with peeks of sunshine expected later. Overnight, 57 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.

Canandaigua: High of 70, partly cloudy. Overnight 54 degrees with a few passing clouds.

Bath: High of 69 degrees with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Overnight 54 degrees with partly cloudy skies later.

Tuesday

Geneva: High of 72, partly cloudy. 60 degrees overnight, partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain.

Ithaca: High of 72 with cloudy skies early and partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. 62 degrees overnight with partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy.

Canandaigua: High of 72 degrees, partly cloudy. Overnight 58 degrees with a slight chance of a rain shower.

Bath: High of 69 with cloudy skies early on becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Overnight 57 degrees with cloudy skies and the chance of a rainshower.


Wednesday

Geneva: High of 70, partly cloudy in the morning with occasional showers in the afternoon. 49 degrees overnight with partly cloudy skies becoming overcast.

Ithaca: High of 70 degrees, cloudy early with showers during the afternoon. 49 degrees overnight with partly cloudy skies in the evening followed by cloudy skies.

Canandaigua: High of 69 and partly cloudy with increasing clouds and showers developing later on. Overnight 46 degrees with partly cloudy skies, becoming more cloudy overnight.

Bath: High of 66 degrees with mostly cloudy skies in the morning, giving way to showers later on in the day. Overnight 45 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.

Thursday

Geneva: High of 55 degrees with a slight chance of rainshower. High of 38 degrees overnight with a few clouds.

Ithaca: High of 56 degrees with cloudy skies early and partial clearing later. Overnight 38 degrees.

Canandaigua: High of 54, mostly cloudy skies becoming partly cloudy later in the day. Overnight 37 degrees with clear skies and a few passing clouds.

Bath: High of 57 degrees with mostly cloudy skies early on, becoming cloudy later in the day with the chance of a rain shower. Overnight 36 degrees with a few passing clouds.

Ithaca: High of 58 degrees, considerably cloudy. Overnight 38 degrees with a few clouds.

Canandaigua: High of 54 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Overnight 36 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

Bath: High of 56 degrees with cloudiness. Overnight 34 degrees with light wind.

Saturday

Geneva: High of 59 degrees with clouds in the morning giving way to mainly sunny skies later that afternoon. Overnight, high of 40 degrees with a few passing clouds.

Ithaca: High of 60 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Overnight 38 degrees, generally fair.

Canandaigua: High of 59 with mainly sunny skies. Overnight 38 degrees with a few clouds.

Bath: High of 60 degrees and mainly sunny. Overnight 37 degrees with mostly clear skies.

Is it supposed to get colder and will we see snowfall in the forecast anytime soon?

So far Weather.com has forecasts out with more details through November 7, and it looks like there will mainly be just rain.

Temperatures are remaining above the 50s during the day, with a few 49 degree days being forecasted.

The Farmer’s Almanac recently released their winter 2022-23 predictions, and it’s looking like there will be a lot of snow this year in New York. When it this New York weather begins has yet to be determined.
