The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency is looking at soliciting proposals for a study on the ‘best use’ for the state-owned, former Willard Psychiatric campus along Seneca Lake.
Elected officials don’t want the property to become a long-term vacant facility.
That said, it’s a big property and a lot of options. Moreover, the state is going to have a big hand in whatever happens next with it.
The Board of Supervisors has urged the state to maintain the property as it sits, so it doesn’t continue to deteriorate.

The study would be executed by a third-party partner and paid for through grant funds.
