Phelps, MVP Health Care, and National Fitness Campaign bring free outdoor fitness court to Community Center

Phelps, MVP Health Care and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) announced a partnership to bring a free, outdoor Fitness Court® to The Phelps Community Center located at 8 Banta St., Phelps. The Fitness Court is scheduled to open this fall with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The MVP Health Care Fitness Court will provide the community with increased access to outdoor exercise programs.

The MVP Health Care Fitness Court in Phelps is a result of a partnership between MVP Health Care
and NFC to expand free access to high quality workouts for communities around the state. The Fitness Court is a free, open-air wellness center that allows users to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout. Created with people aged 14 and over – and with all abilities – in mind, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels and allow users to move at their own pace. Users can also download the free Fitness Court app, which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and transforms the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.

‘We are so excited to offer a path for free healthy lifestyles in this community,” said Janie Burgess,
Executive Director of the Phelps Community Center. “The long-term goal is simple, Live Better.”

“The launch of the MVP Health Care Fitness Court in Phelps is a step towards providing access to resources that can change the trajectory of someone’s health and wellness journey,” said MVP Health Care’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Del Vecchio. “As a leading health care
services company, investing in our local communities and offering new, innovative wellness options like the Fitness Court reinforces our commitment to giving back to the people we serve and places we call home. We are proud to partner with NFC and Phelps to bring this unique opportunity to the local community and look forward to seeing you on the Fitness Court.”

“We are excited to have Phelps join us as we make a positive impact on health and wellness across America,” said Mitch Menaged, Founder of National Fitness Campaign”. The addition of the Fitness Court and ongoing engagement in healthy lifestyles demonstrates a tremendous commitment to the community.”

Construction of the Fitness Court has begun and is scheduled to be completed in early September.
The ribbon cutting and challenge event will be held on Saturday 09/10/22 @ noon located at 8 Banta Street Phelps.
