31-year-old in custody after Newark bank robbery

The Newark Police Department has made an arrest after a bank robbery more than 10 days ago.

On Thursday, August 11 the Citizens Bank on West Miller Street was robbed.

At the time, the suspect was said to be wearing a surgical mask, and fled before authorities arrived.

Now, the suspect, identified as Thomas Vandusen, 31, has been arrested.

Police say he’s been charged with third-degree robbery. He was arraigned at the Wayne County Jail, where he was already in custody on an unrelated charge.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and Palmyra Police Department assisted.
