The Syracuse Mets fell to the Buffalo Bisons, 8-1, on Saturday night at NBT Bank Stadium. Buffalo has now won four of the first five games in the six-game series.
The Mets’ only run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh as Deven Marrero launched his third home run of the season over the wall in left-center. Mark Vientos collected three of the team’s seven hits.
Veteran left-hander Mike Montgomery started for Syracuse and allowed a pair of runs over three innings.
Phillip Diehl struggled in relief as he surrendered four runs, while Michael Otanez gave up two.
The final game of the series is set for Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
