Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. welcomes 11 summer interns

Mengel Metzger Barr & Co., a locally owned accounting firm providing a variety of financial services, has hired Matthew Beiter, Maira Brennan, MacKenna Bruner, Alexander Brychcy, David Bottos, George Finter, Marcus Gonzlez, James Roberts, Jackson Rogers, Kevin Sheller and Sam Starr as summer interns.

Beiter most recently worked for the Town of Perinton Public Works for two summers. He is a senior at St. John Fisher University and will be graduating in May 2023. He resides in the town of Fairport, NY.

Brennan is a senior at SUNY Geneseo and will be graduating in May 2023. She most recently worked at Sunshine Daycare and is a resident of Irondequoit, NY.

Residing in Elmira, NY, Bruner was most recently employed at Mark Twain Golf Course in Elmira, NY and is working towards her bachelor’s degree at the University at Albany.


Brychcy is currently attending the University of Rochester for a Bachelor of Science in business and will go on to pursue a graduate degree at the Simon Business School. He resides in Palmyra, NY.

Bottos was most recently a government, compliance and labor audit intern at The Bonadio Group. He attended Monroe Community College, where he received an associate of science in business administration. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher University, where he will be pursuing a graduate degree this fall. Bottos is a resident of Rochester, NY.

Residing in Penfield, NY, Finter attended Monroe Community College before continuing his education at the University at Buffalo as a sophomore.

A resident of Brighton, NY., Gonzalez was most recently a tax intern at Allied Financial Partners in Victor, NY. He received his associates degree in accounting from Thompkins Cortland Community College and went on to receive his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration-accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Roberts is a junior accounting student at the Rochester Institute of Technology and was most recently a contract bookkeeper. He resides in Rochester, NY.

Rogers is a senior at the University at Buffalo pursuing a Bachelor of Science in accounting. The Victor, NY., resident most recently worked at local bakery Gourmet Goodies.

Sheller is junior at Syracuse University pursuing his bachelor’s in accounting and management and will be graduating in May 2024. He most recently worked at Country Club of Rochester and is a resident of Pittsford, NY.

Starr received his associates in business administration at Monroe Community College and is currently studying accounting at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He resides in Rochester, NY.
