Clyde-Savannah pushes elementary start time later to accommodate shortage of bus drivers

Elementary students at the Clyde-Savannah School District are getting a late-start in 2022-23.

A letter to parents informed them that it’s part of an effort to avoid the chances of needing to move to virtual learning.

Why? Lack of school bus drivers. Apparently with the later start, the district feels more confident that it can get through the school year, whether school bus drivers get COVID or not.

The district has used a single bus run model. However, they will now move to a two bus run model.

Elementary students will start at 8:45 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:15 p.m. Middle and high school students will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:35 p.m.
