Ithaca woman charged with felony assault after stabbing

The Ithaca Police Department says one person is in custody after a stabbing.

On Monday around 11:15 p.m. officers responded to a hotel in the 300 block of Elmira Road for a stabbing.

Officers discovered the victim with multiple wounds as a result of a domestic incident. The victim was transported to a regional trauma center and is expected to survive.


Shortly after, the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jessica McComb, of Ithaca was taken into custody.

McComb was charged with second-degree assault, aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

All of the charges are felony counts, according to police.

Any witnesses are asked to contact IPD as the investigation remains active.
