Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department President Tim Hoster has issued the following statement in response to the community and peer support directed towards his department during and following the fire at Ferrara Lumber & Building Supplies on Bayard Street in Seneca Falls on Sunday.
The Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department would like to Thank all the individuals, local businesses and surrounding communities for everything they did for us during the Ferrara Lumber fire on Sunday July 3, 2022. We do not have an entire list of everyone that provided food supplies and most of all water and drinks. We feel that a list would not be suitable as we are afraid we would miss someone.
Without the community support we get we would not be able to do what we do in protecting the people of Seneca Falls and the surrounding communities.
We also would like to give a very big “Thank You” to the other responders that assisted on scene and filling in to protect other communities while their own responders were here helping us.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the emergency services please visit your local volunteer fire department or ambulance to learn more. For those in Seneca Falls please stop by the station on any Monday evening.
