Ithaca man held without bail after threatening people at McDonald’s with a knife

The Ithaca Police Department reports the arrest of a 50-year-old following an incident at the McDonald’s restaurant on Elmira Road.

Charles Stillwell Jr., 50, of Ithaca was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. Both charges stem from an incident where he was allegedly threatening people with a knife at the McDonald’s location.


Upon arrival officers were able to de-escalate the situation and take Stillwell into custody without incident.

The victim and suspect had no knowledge or prior relationship. No injuries were reported, according to police.

He was arraigned and the charges will be answered at a later date.
