The national average for a gallon of gas has officially reached more than $5 per gallon.
Americans are requesting financial relief to help cope with the costs.
Will seniors get a stimulus to help deal with inflation?
Will there be additional financial assistance?
According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $5.016 as of June 14, 2022. Many people can’t limit their driving or gas usage and are being hit hard with the price increase. Some states are sending gas stimulus checks to offer some relief.
In June lawmakers in North Carolina put out a plan to send money to residents via check or prepaid debit card. The rebate would be worth $200 and would become available October 1 to anyone over 18 with a valid state license. There are some other states that are also looking into gas stimulus to offer some relief to their residents.
Americans are pushing for another federal stimulus, but right now that seems bleak. Even on the state level, lawmakers are being cautious about how they are distributing funds.
