Thousands were left without power as severe thunderstorms ripped through the Finger Lakes region leaving a path of damage from Ontario through Northern Cayuga counties.
Reports of wind damage were observed in several locations in Livingston and Ontario counties, as well as Seneca, Wayne, and Cayuga counties.

As of 6 p.m. more than 1,200 were without power in Cayuga County, and more than 4,300 were without power in Ontario County. Just 460 were without power in Wayne County- as most of the outages there were focused in the southern portion of the county.
The severe weather threat has pushed well-east of the Finger Lakes region now- and even though a cold front has yet to move through- the atmosphere has stabilized enough that the greatest threat for strong or severe storms has passed.

Looking southwest to northeast. Notice the hayfield is dropped in a uniform direction. Indicative of a straight-line wind. I’m seeing this consistently across the areas l’ve looked at so far. pic.twitter.com/S2IvOMOi0S

Another example of a hayfield dropped flat on a straight-line southwest to northeast wind. Near one of the Wesley/Taft intersections in West Bloomfield. Haven’t seen any indications of rotation yet. pic.twitter.com/j6JNWqZqAk

The owner of this house says she was taking pictures of the storm coming across the lake when she started hearing things starting to crash. When she looked out her window — trees and branches falling in her front yard. She said she immediately seeked shelter in her bathroom. pic.twitter.com/Va1CXRjjz7
