SEVERE STORMS: Clean up begins after damaging winds rip through Finger Lakes (full coverage)

Thousands were left without power as severe thunderstorms ripped through the Finger Lakes region leaving a path of damage from Ontario through Northern Cayuga counties.

Reports of wind damage were observed in several locations in Livingston and Ontario counties, as well as Seneca, Wayne, and Cayuga counties.

As of 6 p.m. more than 1,200 were without power in Cayuga County, and more than 4,300 were without power in Ontario County. Just 460 were without power in Wayne County- as most of the outages there were focused in the southern portion of the county.

The severe weather threat has pushed well-east of the Finger Lakes region now- and even though a cold front has yet to move through- the atmosphere has stabilized enough that the greatest threat for strong or severe storms has passed.
