State police say a 72-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash along the New York State Thruway.
It happened in the town of Phelps on Thursday around 2:40 p.m.
John McNamara, 72, was traveling east in the town of Phelps along the Thruway when he lost control and was ejected from his 2006 Honda motorcycle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
The accident remains under investigation. However, periods of rain were reported throughout the afternoon along the Thruway in the Finger Lakes region.
It’s unclear if rain contributed to the crash.
