Rochester Red Wings blow late lead, drop third straight to St. Paul

The Rochester Red Wings blew a 3-0 lead in the ninth inning on Thursday night at CHS Field and fell to the St. Paul Saints, 4-3.

Logan Verrett started on the bump for Rochester and tossed six shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out six. Patrick Murphy and Tyler Clippard each tossed a scoreless inning in relief, and Reed Garrett allowed all four runs.


Josh Palacios crushed his fifth home run of the season over the wall in right-center in the fourth inning.

Joey Meneses brought home a run with a sacrifice fly to right in the eighth.

St. Paul scored their runs in the ninth on a pair of two-run homers from John Andreoli and Spencer Steer.

The Red Wings will try to snap their three-game skid on Friday night with Cade Cavalli on the hill. The first pitch is slated for 8:07 p.m.
