The Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders and the Medina Mustangs squared off in the Far West Regional on Saturday afternoon at Monroe Community College. The Red Raiders came out victorious by a score of 11-1 in five innings.

Christopher Finocchario Jr. started on the bump for Palmyra-Macedon and tossed five innings of one-run ball while striking out six.
Ian Goodness opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-out RBI single. Christian Morrison followed that with a two-run double to extend the lead to 3-0.
In the third, Ian Goodness hammered a two-run triple to make it 5-0. Then, Morrison delivered a run-scoring single to increase the lead.
Finocchario Jr. brought home a run in the fourth with a two-out single to make it a 7-1 game.
The Red Raiders plated four runs in the fifth and ended the game due to a mercy rule. Two runs came on a fielder’s choice and a wild pitch, while the other two runs came off the bat of Finocchario Jr., who ripped a two-run single.
Medina’s lone run came in the fourth on Julian Woodworth’s sacrifice fly.
Next up for Palmyra-Macedon will be the state semifinals, which are set to take place in Binghamton next weekend.
