Police say a Newark woman was arrested following a personal injury motor vehicle collision.
According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mikayla Otero, 24, of Newark for driving while intoxicated.
The charges stem from. Personal injury motor vehicle collision that occurred in the Town of Lyons. It is alleged that Otero was driving west on Old Lyons Road when the vehicle left the roadway and truck a telephone pole. Otero sustained injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. During the investigation, evidence suggested intoxication was the reason for the collision. A blood draw was initiated and Otero was found to have a blood alcohol content of .22% BAC.
Otero will answer the charges in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Lyons Ambulance and Lyons Fire Department.
