Yankees reinstate Aaron Hicks from paternity list

The New York Yankees made a roster move prior to Friday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals.

The team reinstated outfielder Aaron Hicks from the paternity list. Hicks was away from the team for three games following the birth of his child.

To make room for him on the 28-man roster, right-handed reliever Ron Marinaccio was optioned to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Yankees Triple-A affiliate.

Hicks is hitting .273 with a homer, six runs, four RBI and two stolen bases in 15 games this season.

Marinaccio made his Major League debut on April 9 against the Boston Red Sox. He has an 11.25 ERA over four games this season. Over his last 1.2 innings, he has allowed five runs.
