WEEKEND WEATHER: Things get more seasonable in the Finger Lakes with plenty of sunshine

This week has featured quiet, but cool weather for a big chunk of the Finger Lakes and Central New York.

The Storm Trackers Team says temperatures will begin moderating this weekend- even becoming ‘seasonable’ by the end.

No major precipitation is expected until Sunday night, so outdoor plans will be easily managed both Saturday and Sunday.

According to forecaster Joshua Pan, the weekend forecast- despite the slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures- will be a beautiful one.

One challenge could be on Lake Ontario, where winds will produce some waves that could be hazardous to small crafts.

Temperatures will be near 60 on Saturday with abundant sunshine. Winds away from the big lake will be light- in the 5-10 mph range.

Sunday will feature mostly sunny conditions with winds shifting to the south- and a high temperature around 70 degrees. Showers will develop overnight- but again- nothing major to contend with at this juncture.

There is an increased risk of wildfire due to dry conditions over the last several days.
