The Syracuse Crunch were defeated by the Utica Comets, 5-1, on Friday night at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Utica led 1-0 after the first period after 2-1 after the second, before scoring three goals in the third to secure the victory.
Anthony Richard was the only one who found the back of the net for Syracuse.
Nikita Okhotiuk, Reilly Walsh, Tyler Wotherspoon, Brian Flynn and Brian Halonen tallied for Utica.
Hugo Alnefelt stopped 24-of-28 shots in the loss while Akira Schmid turned aside 25-of-26 shots in the win.
Syracuse finished 0-for-4 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill.
The Crunch will try to bounce back on Saturday night when they host the Toronto Marlies at 7 p.m.
