The Yates County Legislature has rejected a proposal to add another seat to the board during their Monday meeting.
The Legislature will remain a 14-seat body instead of increasing its capacity to 15 legislators, announced the board on Monday, April 11. On that same day, the board agreed to redraw legislative district lines so each legislator represents roughly the same number of voters, according to Finger Lakes Times.
Legislature Chair Leslie Church created an ad hoc committee to draft new district boundaries for the government operations committee to review.
