In a follow up to the Fort Ontario edition of Our Finger Lakes History, Seneca County Historian Walter Gable talks about Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Camp, located on the Fort Ontario property from 1944 until 1946. This program deals with Safe Haven, and how almost 1,000 refugees of assorted European nationalities were brought to Fort Ontario in Oswego from Italy in 1944 by the order of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
