A longtime public servant in Cayuga County will continue being a resource for local community members, even after his retirement.
James Orman, longtime Cayuga County Treasurer, was recently elected to be the mayor of Aurora.
According to The Citizen, Orman won an uncontested race for mayor in Aurora– and never actually considered running until last fall when incumbent Mayor Bonnie Apgar Bennett told him she was not seeking re-election.
She encouraged him to run. Orman served four terms as county treasurer and worked in the Rochester area for many years.
He will take office on April 4.
