Cornell settles for 2-2 tie with Harvard

The Cornell men’s hockey team settled for a 2-2 tie with Harvard on Saturday night at Lynah Rink.

The Crimson earned an extra point in the ECAC Hockey standings by winning the six-round shootout.

This is the second straight tie as the Big Red tied with Dartmouth on Friday night.

Cornell goaltender Ian Shane turned aside 34-of-36 shots. Mitchell Gibson made 20 saves for Harvard.


Brenden Locke and Matt Stienburg each netted a goal for the Big Red.

Marshall Rifai and Matthew Coronato found the back of the net for Harvard.

Cornell takes on Brown in a makeup game on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
