Geneva City Manager Sage Gerling resigns, accepts position with Cornell University

Geneva City Manager Sage Gerling is resigning from the position held for the last three years.

Gerling told City Council on Monday that she would leave the job on January 21. She’s accepted a position with Cornell University.

It will be City Council’s job to find a successor for Gerling, who suggested Assistant City Manager Adam Blowers to fill the interim role.

“I am humbled and honored to have served the city for the past 12 years,” Gerling said in an emailed statement to councilors. “I have put my head and heart into making the city grow and shine.”

Filling the City Manager’s role will now jump to the top of priorities for City Council in 2022.
