TikTok, formerly known as Musical.ly, has agreed to pay out a $92 million dollar settlement as part of a lawsuit brought against the app.
If you used either app before Oct. 1 you may be entitled to a piece of the settlement.
Many users received a notification informing them that they could fill out a claim. Individuals worried it was a scam, but it is not.

Byte-Dance owns TikTok, and in February settled a class action suit after being accused of harvesting data from their users without their consent.
The company is also required to change and disclose their data collection practices.
89 million users are impacted and eligible for a part of the settlement.
Claims can be submitted until March 1, 2022.
