In just one weekend American Airlines managed to cancel 1,600 flights saying there was bad weather and lack of staff.
Earlier in the month Southwest Airlines seemed to be facing the same issues.
This raises concern as the holiday season approaches; one of the busiest times of the year for national and international travel.
900 flights were cancelled Friday and Saturday, with 800 more on Sunday.
Wind was part of the issue in Texas, which prevented flights from using all the runways at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
This then resulted is not being able to get crews together for other flights, causing additional cancellations.
Most passengers were able to get on different flights the same day.
American Airlines is working hard to bolster its staff and be able to handle the holiday season.
