Merck has officially filed an application with the FDA to get its COVID-19 pill approved for emergency use.
The Chief Medical Officer for WebMD, Dr. John Whyte, recently interviewed with The National Desk, and explained how it would work.
The person takes four pills per day for five days.
Approval ranges from weeks to months, and nobody knows who will be eligible to take the drug.
The pill works to treat people infected with mild to moderate symptoms and can help prevent half the rate of hospitalizations among the infected.
The pills will cost $700.
