An Oneida County man was arrested after holding a gun to his girlfriends head while he was driving.
The woman jumped from the moving vehicle to escape as he actively assaulted her.
The unnamed woman was in the vehicle with John J. Linen Jr., 34, when he pulled a gun and put it to her head during an argument Sunday around 7 p.m.
He drove to another location where she attempted to escape, but he pulled her back into the car and continued to assault her.
She jumped out of the moving vehicle after he started driving again and was treated for injuries sustained during the assault.
New Hartford and Utica police arrested Linen on Wednesday and charged him with second degree kidnapping, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree menacing, third degree assault, and second degree harassment.
Linen is held with no bail due to prior felony drug charges from 2008 and 2015.
