New York DEC purchases 65.7 acres of property to expand Bare Hill Unique Area

The New York State DEC announces their acquisition of 65.7 acres of land from the Town of Middlesex in Yates County.

The land is going to be added to the Bare Hill Unique Area.

In partnership with the Finger Lakes Land Trust, the land will improve public access and protect natural wildlife.

The land was originally purchased in 2013 by the FLLT. The DEC then purchased it for $178,000 using the State Environmental Protection Fund.
