Man arrested following road rage incident that began on Thruway

A Penn Yan man has been arrested following a road rage incident.

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested William Lockwood, 60, of Penn Yan, after an incident of road rage that began on the Thruway and ended on State Route 14 in Phelps.

Lockwood allegedly intentionally damaged the vehicle of another person by driving his own vehicle into it multiple times, forcing it off the roadway.




Lockwood was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and reckless driving.

He was held at Ontario County Jail on pre arraignment and will answer to the charges at a later date.
